It’s ALLLLLIIIIVVVEEE!!

I finally finished the Guitar Hero Scarf! Here it is in all six feet of it’s glory:

Just in time for… spring. Well, crap.

I decided to go with a riff from “Killer Queen” by Queen from one of the first Guitar Hero games released. I could have gone with something trendier, or with more “indie music cred” but screw that. I love Queen and will until the day I die. I didn’t think until I was mostly done with this thing that I’ll be wearing a scarf referring to a song about a high class call girl. Heh. Don’t y’all be gettin’ any ideas or anything. I don’t even like caviar.

And for anyone that asks, I’m not selling this one. I’ve grown rather attached to it. However, if you would like to make one yourself, I put a “pattern” over on the Free Patterns page. I say pattern in bunny quotes because I have NO idea how to write patterns…. If you have any questions, though, send me an e-mail. I’d love to not be the only one wearing one of these when fall comes around again!

While I was trying to take more pictures, you may notice a little problem I was having with *stuff* getting in the shot:

As it turns out, he was just preforming a product durability test. He even goes so far as to bite the scarf. Check out the video. And at the end, he decides to see how durable his noggin is on the sliding door:

Scarf Durability Test

I love my little attention hogging klutz. I guess he just liked the feel of the yarn. He was just walking back and forth on the thing earlier, but I thought a 2 minute video of a kid walking back and forth may be a little boring.

And, yes, I dress my kid in Hawaiian shirts. It builds character.

I love it! I especially love that you picked “Killer Queen” as the riff. And dressing The Professor in Hawaiian shirts is fantastic. He is adorable.

Wait! You mean there are mommies who *don’t* dress their sons in Hawai’ian shirts? What are they, Commies?? My 11 yo has always worn the festive shirt. You can’t kill them.

    Nice scarf, BTW. Queen lives!

Is the character your building the type likely to pick up killer queens, or just to appreciate the song? =P

Seriously though, looks fantastic. I bow to your craftly queenage!

Crikey, not entirely sure how I ended up here! Nevertheless, your scarf is all kinds of awesome.

I would only need a scarf that goes up to ‘medium’ though, if I didn’t want to make a fool of myself.

You are my hero. Not my guitar hero. My being a mom and still being able to blog and craft and cook and take video of the kid hero. :) How’s THAT for proper grammar?

The Professor ended up being a great model and I really like the design. Although less cute, I really like the idea of a Rock Band-inspired pattern. If you made one of those, I’d definitely buy it.

What did you make the scarf out of? How long did it take? I agree with dubbs!!

    Kudos

wow! congrats on finishing! i actually got inspired by your project and did one of my own. i give you the rock band scarf:

    http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc80/lizzkatt/misc/finished.jpg

the four on top are the vocal, bass, guitar and drum parts of the chorus to a song by the band locksley. the last scarf is based on a tshirt they have. i’m actually going to give them these scarves in a couple of weeks. thanks for the idea!

for future cool scarf-making, if you put the scarf in the washer on one cycle fter youve finished it, then take straight pins and pin it straight onto a large sheet of cardboard (some ruler lines may help) and let it dry (24-36 hrs) it will dry without the center shrinking :) very cool!

Now THIS is EPIC WIN!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!! … although I wouldn’t know the first thing about crochet.. I get bored with knitting.. and I wouldn’t know where to wear it…
However… you have inspired me to make a design for an item of clothing….Now just wait a few years for me to finish every other project..by then gh will be out of fashion.. and I’ll be the only nerd wearing it xD roflol

*jaw hits the computer desk* I was speechless for a moment. That’s incredible! There is no compliment on this earth that is worthy of such imagination and bad-assness. I have to figure out the rift of ‘My name is Jonas’ my sister’s best song from the game.
Thank you for sharing your talents!
