Scarf Road Block

So I’m having my first yarn snafu ever. I only bought one skein of yarn for the guitar hero scarf, but it was not enough. When I went back to the store to get more, that color was mysteriously gone. The sku for it was gone and everything. I like to think they just sold out and temporarily replaced it with other colors. (Asking an employee did no good at all. “I don’t know. If it’s not on the shelf I don’t think we have it. Are you sure you bought that color here?” ) I went to the only other store that has yarn in this town (Wal-mart) and they of course don’t carry it. *Sigh* Next time I go up into Huntsville, I’ll try all their craft stores. If they don’t have it maybe I can find it online…. Arg.

In other news I got to play with a Wii Fit for the first time yesterday. That thing is FUN! I was not expecting to get a case of the giggles while working out. I also found that under all my flab, I actually have a pretty good set of abs! My friend (the Wii owner) told me I shouldn’t do the 3 minute hula game because it was too hard. But I love a challenge! So I did it without even breaking a sweat or feeling any burn. Rarr!! I’m the hula master! Nevermind that I’m as graceful as an albatross and probably looked ridiculous to all in the room. Everyone attributed my crazy hula skills to the fact that my 19 month old freak of nature weighs almost 40 pounds, and I lug him around on my hip all day. I can totally see that.

Hopefully I have the scarf done soon. In the meantime I’ll work on some silly ideas I have for Valentines Day!

You know, I’ve never really noticed if Michael’s or Hobby Lobby has yarn. I’ll have to look next time I am there.

What kind of yarn, and what color? I’d be happy to check my stash for you!

If not, you might check on Ravelry to see if someone has what you need.

Au contraire, dearie, I AM the hula champion–I seriously ROCK that game hardcore. And yeah, it IS a ton of fun, isn’t it? I also like the tight-rope walking one.

Hmm, I need to think of Valentine’s Day projects myself…

Oh the 3 minute hula game……it hurts so bad, but it’s so fun. It’s not a work out if I haven’t done that. Now the 6 minute one, that’s bananas; )

We borrowed Wii fit recently. Yoga kicked my butt, man. I picked the girl as my trainer and, whew, she is hardcore!
I am not ashamed to say that I had fun on the Stepping game-exercise-thingy. My wife had lots of fun watching me and my no-rythm-having feet wobble on and off the board. Fun stuff.

I can’t find Wii Fit in stores to save my life. I wanted to get it for the wife for Xmas but no place had it. Even now, well after the holidays, I still can’t find it! Curse you Nintendo!!
