Princess Peach Drink FAIL & Monday Ramblings

I tried and tried to get a Princess Peach themed gamer drink up. Of course the base of the drink was Peach Scnapps. The problem was making a drink that hadn’t already been made, and make it taste GOOD. I mean anyone can make a Fuzzy Navel, throw a pink umbrella in it, and call it a day. But I have my pride! The best tasting drink I made Alex say, “That’s…interesting….?” (He was my official taste tester. Poor guy.) We wasted half a bottle of peach schnapps! Most of it went down the drain the drinks were so bad. Argh. I think I will try again later this week, but I’m starting to wonder if I even LIKE peach schnapps anymore….

Guess what I did this weekend? House hunting in tornado-y weather! Woooo! Who’s hard core? Me! Who ruined a perfectly good pair of shoes by not thinking about the rain? Me! Who’s absolutely SICK of house hunting? Me me ME!! The 4th house we decided to move on was, you guessed it, taken off the market. We have now started to move on a 5th house, but haven’t heard anything back from the seller to make sure it is still available. If this one falls through, I feel I may just explode. ** Even our representative says she’s never seen anyone with the horrible luck we have. She tries to make us feel better by saying we just have great taste and an eye for a good deal. *sigh* And we’re still in the first steps of the process. Who knows what will happen with counter offers, inspections, loans, etc. etc. etc.

In other news, yesterday was my birthday! While I would have liked to spend the entire day being selfish and doing silly things, errands and the above fiasco got in the way. I did get to go to an awesome authentic Mexican restaurant in Athens for dinner. It was a new restaurant so they’re still working out all the bugs in how to serve people in a timely matter, but the food made up for it. They had dishes that I had only had in Texas that I missed terribly. They had Tacos al Pastor!!! Favorite dish ever. Well, one of my favorites. When it comes to food, I can think of probably ten dishes that are my “favorite dish ever.” Lots of foodie love over here.

I’m hoping to have some crafty stuff to show you soon, but today I’m going to just chill. I think I deserve it. Curl up with a book, play with the kid, make some brownies. You know, live the house-wifey life that people THINK most housewives live. Totally.

** EDIT ** We have an official contract on the house! Waiting for the counter-offer! HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Happy Belated Birthday!

My husband and I won’t be house hunting for some time yet, but when we do I’m worried about the same thing happening to us! Ugh.

Enjoy your restful day. The Princess Peach will come to you eventually. :)

Birthday?! Well geez, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You failed to mention that on Thursday, shame on you. ;)

And if you couldn’t get the whole day to yourself, just give yourself a raincheck. I believe everyone should take their birthday as a vacation day. You owe it to yourself and so does everyone around you.

Glad to hear the house situation is on an up swing.

So even if you’re 2 for 3 on things this past week, that’s pretty good.

Happy late birthday! What better way to celebrate than with a few tacos Al Pastor? Did they sing you Las Mañanitas at the restaurant? :) Good luck on the contract, got my fingers crossed for you guys.

Try Peach Schnapps with a hint of midori, and add amaretto, possibly gin. I’d do 2 pts PS, 1/2 pt M, 1 pt Amaretto, 1 pt gin OR whiskey, preferrably jack.

Also with the Happy Late Bday!

I don’t know if the word “bugs” should be used to describe a Mexican restaurant. Even if they’re proverbial.

    :)
