I promised you a girly drink, so here it is! In two varieties no less. The Frozen Moogle and the Moogle Straight! (For those of you that don’t know, a Moogle is from the Final Fantasy series.)
For this recipe, you’ll need a blender. This makes enough for 2 people. Fill the blender with ice, then add 1/4 cup vodka, 1/4 cup triple sec, 1/4 cup vanilla liqueur, and about 1 cup of grapefruit juice. Blend the crap out of it, add a cherry and viola! The Frozen Moogle! The wing is of course optional, but if you’re interested, it is just white chocolate that I colored purple and piped out in that shape. It’s a little too fragile to be practical (I originally planned on TWO wings, but one exploded) and the taste doesn’t really add anything to the drink. It just looks cool.
And now the Moogle Straight, for those of you that feel silly with big frozen drinks. Although I do think I liked the taste of this one more.
This recipe is basically just a smaller, simpler version of the Frozen Moogle. Fill a glass with ice, then one shot each of vodka, triple sec, and vanilla liqueur, and then fill the glass with grapefruit juice. Adorn with a cherry and enjoy! Easier than leveling on Mus!
I love this drink for many reasons. It’s delicious, it’s cute, but mostly because I discovered the poor man’s Sweet and Sour mix. Grapefruit juice does a wonderful job of imitating something like an amaretto sour. And the vanilla liqueur and triple sec take away the bite from the juice and vodka. Be careful, this is one of those deceptive drinks that you won’t know how much alcohol is in it until you’re dancing on a table with a lamp shade on your head. Not that I’m speaking from experience or anything….
I don’t know what we’ll be doing for next week. I’ve blown my monthly budget on the ingredients for the last four drinks. If I can think of something with what we already have, then I’ll have something. If not, you guys will have to wait a couple weeks for something new. I have three drinks lined up that will blow your socks off. I’m starting to think I should start selling ad space on this thing to help out with buying ingredients…. Meh, I’ll think about that later.

Yay for girly drinks! I’m not a big grape fruit fan, but combined with some sort of vanilla flavor sounds interesting. I like the frozen-ness, my favorite way to ingest a beverage.
Moogles all around!
Optional option for The Moogle: two drops of red food coloring
Because things that are red, blue, or green always look more tasty.

You need a donations tab. Yup. As awesome as your site is? Definitely.

Brilliant! It even looks like a Moogle with the cherry in the middle.
I just love your gamer-theme drinks.

These have all been some really cool ideas. I really want to try them.
Though, any suggestions on this one for those of us who are allergic to aka can’t stand grapefruit? D:

@RyoBeat: Thanks! Let me know if you try them what you think. It would be nice to have other people’s opinions!
And if you just don’t like grapefruit, I actually recommend trying this drink anyway. I HATE grapefruit. This recipe was mostly for the husband and friends that love the stuff. But after trying this, I was hooked. You can’t even taste the grapefruitiness. However, if you are allergic, or still don’t want to try the juice, go for a sweet and sour mix. You can get them at most liquor stores. It’s like what is in an Amaretto Sour. The mix will be stronger than the juice, so if you’re not making the frozen one, you may want to use a different juice in addition to the mix. Orange juice is a classic, or cranberry. You could get fancy and even use things like Mango Nectar or something. Experimenting is always fun!

Ahh, why didn’t I think of that? Orange or mango sounds right up my alley. I don’t actually drink very often, so. I’m a complete dullard when it comes to this sort of thing. xD
Thanks a lot! I’ll have to get the ladyfriend to help me whip one of these up sometime soon. I’ll definitely stop back by and let you know how it turns out when I get around to making them!

You seem to have a “classic gaming” theme thing going on for these drinks… Very iconic imagery to go with your bartending. I like it.
In fact, I liked it so much I have a list of games/characters/themes I’d like to see as drinks:
- Space Invader
- Pacman/Ms. Pacman/Ghosts
- Pong
- Portal/Companion Cube
- Tetris
- Street Fighter (”the Hadouken”?)
- Metal Gear Solid/Solid Snake
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- the Pokeball
- Frogger
- Monkey Island
- Zork (more classic than Myst!)
- Crash Bandicoot (honestly, I’d prefer a Jak & Daxter drink, but Crash wins as far as classicity goes)
- Tamagotchi (this counts as a game!)
- Bubble Bobble (a.k.a. Bust-a-Move)
Hope this gave you some ideas!
