So I’ve decided that I need to up the ante on my Friday posts. I used to have Cookie Friday, but now that the Professor is showing SEVERE signs of the terrible twos, Momma needs a drink. He is trying his best to make sure he remains an only child.
ANYWAY! Here is my first experiment for a video game themed drink, the 1UP!
(Pretty cool picture for a point and click camera, eh?)
Ahem.
I made it with half shot of Malibu Rum and a half shot of Midori. If this is a real drink you can get in bars, I haven’t seen it. While I will say this drink isn’t for everyone, I liked it a lot. It’s strong enough to knock you on your ass, but fruity enough for my girly taste buds. I use the term fruity in the loosest sense of the word, it’s still pretty strong.
I have a couple other ideas for drinks (like a Zelda one and a Metroid one) but I decided not to do them all in the same night. Since I have to taste test these things, I’m afraid that after three different drinks, my posts may start to resemble the ramblings of an insane person. Or a pre-teen MySpace addict. Same difference, really….

I know you hear it all the time (especially from me) but: You’re awesome! Seriously, I’ve never met anyone who could do so many things so freakin’ well! =D
I can’t wait for the Zelda one. It’s my hands-down favorite game series ever. I don’t get paid on Fridays, so checking for these drinks may become my new something to look forward to on those days.

Nice. If only it glowed on its own…I saw in Japan they released a Mega Man Engery Tank drink in honor of Mega Man 9.
You can have some serious fun with video game themes. “The King Hippo,” “Koopa’s Revenge,” “The Konami Code,” “Paperboy on Ice,” “Dracula’s Curse,” — oh the possibilities!!
Nice to see you expand your line of consumables
Bottle it up and I’ll buy it!

@Ash: Be careful, too much ego stroking and I may have to steal you away from Nicky Poo
@Morning Toast: This is why I love you! You have a zillion great ideas. I’m totally stealing these.

“Koopa’s Revenge” needs to be one where you set it on fire. I’m thinking that “The Konami Code” is less of a drink and more of a game:
Take a shot.
Yell out the Konami Code.
Take a shot if you succeed.
Take two if you fail.

Just some more themes…
“The Glass Joe”
“Blue Candle Special”
“The Spinning Ryu”
“Nemo’s Knock Out”
“Samus on the Beach”
“Wiley’s Anger”
“The Panther’s Claw”
“Romance of the Three Shots”
I can do this all day! Fun!

Desperately needing a Metroid drink. Alas, Terrible Twos last until at least 3.5.

I’m a complete novice who’s living in China and trying to make this drink….when you say a “shot” do you just mean pouring both the liquors directly into the glass or what other process should I employ to try and achieve this effect? Any advice out of your busy day would mean so much to me! thank you.
