I’ve made another guitar strap! This one features characters from Joust.
This one is for one of Alex’s jamming buddies, who also happens to be his boss. Now listen to this: Alex works for this guy who likes to come into his office and play guitar with him. Alex keeps his second guitar there for this purpose. Then they go downstairs and play on their arcade machine that has a dozen different old games on it, Joust being the favorite. Can you believe he gets paid to work there?? But to be fair, they work really hard and deserve the little breaks they get.
When he requested a Joust strap, I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. When they showed me the game, it seemed a little familiar, but it was one of those games that I just never played and had forgotten about. Apparently, you fly around on ostriches, trying to knock off other fliers, who are on vultures, and turn them into eggs so you can collect them. Oh, and there is a giant pit of lava below you with a lava hand. O_O
So how about you guys?

Joust!? Are you nuts? That’s freakin awesome!! That is far better than the Invader strap IMHO.
I hate to be a broken record, but you should totally sell these!
Seems like you’ll be stitching anyway - might as well turn your hobbies into cash. You are a cross-stitch machine because you seem to pump these out.
Just go buy some guitar straps and start stitching them with classic game themes, then eBay them and send links to the Joystiq crowd, etc. Someone will buy it for double your cost of the strap+supplies, I’d almost guarantee it. And don’t make one theme more than three times…then they are all “limited runs” and seem rare.
If I had a guitar strap, I’d want Mega Man on it. His face, an E tank, a big health bubble, and him running — that would kick ass. My friend has a GH strap and I’d bet he pay to have a Galaga strap stitched. And hey, where’s the Pac-Man strap — that seems pretty easy to layout.

Awesome strap! I love how pixel art lends itself so well to stitching, due to the gridded nature.
That’s good to hear about Alex. He deserves this kind of boss after the horror stories I always heard from his previous jobs.

Oh, and Morning Toast, don’t steel my Mega Man strap idea! Except I originally wanted bosses, so it’s not the same idea.

I was wondering if you could make a guitar strap with Galaga characters. That would be amazing! My boyfriend LOVES it and I thought it would be a great Christmas gift! I’ll pay definitely! Just please let me know! It would be greatly appreciated!
