So I finally went and read a book on crochet and found out I did it ALL wrong last time. I thought it felt a little more complicated than it needed to be. So THIS time, I discovered the single crochet and the double crochet stitches. With which I made this!
This one was much easier to do. I finished it in less than 2 days! The other one took my nearly a week. (Babies and cats are not good companions when playing with yarn.) Maybe Morning Toast was on to something with this. He’s a talented little bastard, isn’t he?
Like the fangs? This was what it looked like before. When I was finished, I couldn’t help but think that it was smiling at me and needed something more.
Maybe I’m just already getting excited about Halloween. I need to figure out what we’ll be dressing up as this year. Halloween is my favorite holiday by far. One of my sisters throws a HUGE adult only Halloween party every year and I can’t wait! What are you guys dressing up as this year?

Ooo…way to step it up a notch! Not only can you market DS Socks, but now each Sock (we’ll have to call them something else now!) can have a little face and personality. Some happy, some mad, some drunk, some asleep….
Looks like the Nomo guy I see everywhere now. Replace those buttons with the googly eyes or something and you’re golden. Ha!
I love Halloween too, but I’m a bit bias because it’s my birthday! But this year maybe I’ll go as a DS Sock Monster…haha…

You should e-mail Renée your address and maybe we’ll send you something!

Actually, I’ve NEVER dressed up for Halloween before. I’ve never been trick-or-treating before, either. I know, yet another tale of how shallow and empty my life is, right? =P
I bet I could never be anything as cute as your cozy, though!

No trick-or-treating!!! Blasphemy! I only just stopped trick-or-treating a few years ago when we bought our house. Now I get to hand out candy while sitting next to my Darth Vader cardboard cut-out (a neighborhood favorite, I might add).
I get yelled at because I want to go trick/treating but “I’m too old,” and I argue that there is no age limit on trick/treating…people just assume. As far as I’m concerned, if you go to the trouble of putting on a costume, walk to someone and ask them for candy, you deserve a treat.
People take themselves way too seriously…all afraid of being “too old” to have fun or something. But I admit, there is joy in handing out candy and seeing kids have fun.

@ Morning Toast: The last time I went trick-or-treating I was 20 : ) I’m all in favor of older kids trick or treating. But I do love giving out candy to the munchkins! I live in an apartment this year, but hopefully we’ll still have the locals come around.
