I went cross stitch crazy this weekend. Here is what I made!
Being a 360 fangirl, I chose the Xbox controller for this one. But while making it, I kept getting ideas for other variations. While I didn’t have time (or the desire, really) to cross-stitch them all, I did make patterns for them. This way, any of you geeky cross stitchers out there can take the original pattern and substitute whichever logo or controller you like. Or just take these patterns and do as you wish! I will also post them on the Sprite Stitch forums later today.
Original “Home Is Where The Controller Is” Pattern
XBOX 360 Logo with Spere. (My apologies for not having a color chart for that one. I closed everything without saving the color data and there is no way in hell I’m doing that thing again!!!)
You may notice a lack of any PS3 representation. This could be for a couple of reasons:
1.) I didn’t think it was out yet, since NO ONE has one.
2.) I didn’t want a firmware update to brick the cross stitch.
3.) I couldn’t afford to even cross stitch the damn thing.
Happy Stitching!

Squee! I love it! What an excellent idea!
I really, really want to do the Nintendo one, but I’m still in the middle of the last cross-stitch thing I started. =__=

Heck yeah! Sign me up for that NES controller stitcher!
You could do a side-profile silhouette of Mario like those old fashioned ones too!

@ Morning Toast. You are just FULL of awesome ideas!!! I am working on a castle crashers project at the moment, but after that I’m gonna do those silhouettes!

Nice PS3 comments at the end.

Ahhh! That is amazing. I will definitely be making the old skool NES controller one. Also, I’m excited to see what your Castle Crashers project is going to be - me and the boyfriend have been having so much fun playing that!

So, for those of us without the talent for stitching, will you be selling these on eBay anytime soon? I would totally buy one, as would others!

Thank you so much for posting this! I saw this on Sprite Stitch and had to try it out for myself (here’s my rendition: http://rarestgeneric.blogspot.com/2008/10/video-game-cross-stitch-home-is-where.html). I think this will be an AWESOME Christmas present for my old roomie.
I can totally appreciate not being a fan of the PS3, but honestly it would be really great if you would make a pattern of the PS3 controller anyway. I have one, and I love it.
Even if you make a PS3 controller pattern, that doesn’t mean you have to like the PS3!
Just a suggestion.
Thanks again for sharing this!

Just came across this via CRAFT magazine. Great job! Think I might just try my hand at embroidery for my husband. He’s got a PS3 though, so I will track down a pattern for that first…

Thanks for the patterns!! These are great. I posted about them on my blog thebestofdiy.com today. I gotta make the 360 one for my boyfriend.

Awesome!! Thanks so much for these! I have to stitch this for my boyfriend. He does actually have a PS3 (a few people do have them!) but I’m going to do the 360 one as I plays it all the time.
Then maybe I’ll make the Wii one for myself…

This is awesome! I saw it briefly and I’ve knocked one together with a slightly dodgy n64 controller for my mate who has just bought her own place, if it’s not hanging pride of place i’ll kick off! ta again - inspired!
